Port 69
TFTPSimple file transfer with no authentication (TFTP)
Full name:
Trivial File Transfer Protocol
What is port 69?
TFTP is a stripped-down file transfer protocol with no authentication, no directory listing, and no encryption. It is primarily used for PXE network booting, loading firmware onto routers and switches, and diskless workstation setups. Because it has no security controls, it must never be exposed to the public internet. Within an isolated LAN for PXE or firmware provisioning purposes it is acceptable.
