1080
SOCKS proxy server for protocol-agnostic tunneling
SOCKS Proxy
What is port 1080?
A SOCKS proxy on port 1080 acts as a generic intermediary for any TCP or UDP connection, supporting any application protocol (HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc.). SOCKS5, the current version, adds authentication and UDP relay support. Common uses include anonymization, geo-restriction bypass, and VPN-like tunneling. Open SOCKS proxies exposed to the internet are frequently abused for spam campaigns, coordinated attacks, or to conceal the identity of attackers.
